Dr. Cappie Baker has lived in Southern California since 1984. She graduated dental school that year from Meharry Medical College in Nashville, Tennessee at the top of her class. She completed a combined specialty program in Orthodontics and Pediatric Dentistry from UCLA School of Dentistry in 1987 and also received a Master’s of Science in Oral Biology. Dual certification in Orthodontics and Pediatric Dentistry helps Dr. Baker offer a broad-based treatment that addresses the needs of all age groups.
Dr. Baker is passionate about health, fitness, and nutrition and is a competitive triathlete and marathoner. She enjoys Social Media Networking, snowboarding and practices Vinyasaflow yoga to balance her training. She became a member of Train4Autisim to help and inspire others outside of her profession and to give greater meaning to her training. The relationships that she has formed while being a part of Train4Autism are priceless and Dr. Baker feels grateful to have been given the opportunity to train with an AMAZING group of athletes. Her motivation and inspiration began after being touched by the tremendous courage, fortitude, and strength of many of her patients who are living full meaningful lives with loving family and friends who are in some way, large or small, challenged physically, mentally or both. This created a desire to channel her inner passion, strength, and love for health and fitness into helping those who have taught her so much and given her so much joy.
During her free time, Dr. Baker enjoys cooking, leisurely hikes in the local mountains and canyons, and travelling with family and friends.
